Firework Information and Safety

The 4th of July holiday is fast approaching and can be fun times with great memories. Let's have this month be Fireworks Safety Month. SERVPRO of Rolla would like to help make sure everyone knows about some firework safety.
If fireworks are legal where you live, keep these safety tips in mind:
- Never make your own fireworks
- Buy only legal fireworks (legal fireworks have a label with the manufacture's name and directions)
- Store fireworks in a cool dry place
- Kids should never play with fireworks. Fireworks like firecrackers, rockets, and sparklers are just as dangerous.
- Always use fireworks outside and have a bucket of water and a hose nearby.
- Stay clean of others setting off fireworks
- Never throw or point fireworks at someone
- keep pets indoors while setting off fireworks Animals are very sensitive and can be frightened by the stress of fireworks
The dangers of fireworks if not handled properly can result in injury to yourself and others. The best way to protect your family is not to use any fireworks at home, with leaving the lighting to the professionals. Check your local areas for Firework displays.
Fireworks are meant to me enjoyed by all but you will enjoy them much more knowing your family is safe.
