Living in the Midwest can be quite a challenge when it comes to storms. Although our area does not see the hurricane weather that our coastal regions do, the Midwest has had some severe storms that can cause significant damage to your home and property.

Secure Your Roof
With unpredictable weather make sure that your roof has been inspected by either yourself or a professional, making sure to reinforce your roof long before strong winds hit. Always check roof seams, overhangs, and entire decking to ensure stability.
Secure Windows & Doors
Windows and doors can be damaged when high winds, heavy rains, and hail are a threat. Here are some things to check for;
- Make sure that all hinges are tight and secure
- Check for missing screws in doors and windows
- Check door threshold is tightly screwed into your home
Secure Fences and Anchor Loose Objects
Strong winds can develop very quickly and without warning. It can blow down fences and other objects such as outdoor furniture, grills, trash cans and more. Check your fence for strength and resilience, making sure all areas are secure. Anchor loose objects or move any objects indoors to help minimize damage caused by high wind.
